This course takes our study of contract law further from Module 2 and covers the topics of Contingent Contracts, Privity, Performance, and Discharge of Contracts. Like the previous modules, this module to is focused on clarifying concepts and introducing you to the essential cases in contract law. The videos explain complex topics simply through abundant explanations and attractively designed case presentations. Contract Law Essentials Module 6 - Partnership Law

A?partnership is one such relationship where persons come together to carry out business and share profits and losses. The course begins with a short introduction module where you will get a general introduction and a historical glimpse of the Indian partnership law. We then walk you through important legal definitions relating to partnerships and the kinds of partnerships. The subsequent module takes you through factors that influence a partnership and the tests to determine a partnership relationship. The course also brings practical insight into the process of registration for a partnership. The course further takes you through legal aspects relating to the property of partnership, rights, duties, and liabilities of partners. The last module brings out a detailed discussion on the dissolution of a partnership business. This module includes 15 videos and all relevant sections. Contract Law Essentials Module 7 - Sale of Goods Act

The business?has many facets. One of its components is the exchange of goods and services for money or other assets. The concept of sale includes the transfer of property and ownership from one person to another, that is, seller to the buyer. The definition of goods has been a subject of interpretation over the years. Time and again, the courts have interpreted the word 'goods', based on the nature of the subject matter for sale.

The Sale of Goods Act, of?1930 identifies and lays down the basic principles relating to transfer in ownership, passing or risk with ownership, how a buyer gets a good title, remedies of the buyer if goods are not sold to him, remedies of a seller if he remains unpaid,?etc. With the paradigm changes in trade and commerce over the years, the Act no doubt needs some major reforms, but nevertheless, its relevance lies in determining ownership in goods and rights and duties of buyers and sellers.

Contract Law Essentials Module 8 - Negotiable Instruments

A negotiable instrument is transferable with a simple procedure requiring just a signature and delivery. This module begins with a short introduction to negotiable instruments and their kinds. We then walk you through what are promissory notes, bills of exchange, and cheques. The subsequent chapters of this module will give you an in-depth understanding of the difference between negotiation and assignment, endorsement, ambiguous and inchoate instruments, holder and holder-in-due-course, and the consequences of a negotiable instrument being dishonored. The two important terms' noting' and 'protest' are discussed in detail in the last part of this module.
