Human Rights have a projection of universality but as a matter of ground reality they are not the same for all people and societies. It is in this scenario that a few scholars from the West and from Asia decided to sit together and exchange views on their understanding of human rights issues and their subjectmatter.This volume is a bouquet of essays giving a vivid picture of the human rights situation in India both in theory and practice, at places in a comparative and international perspective.
