Dr V. Rajyalakshmi is a senior Professor of law from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. International law and environmental law are her fields of specialisation. Her other areas of interest are family law and human rights law. She is a recipient of Decennial celebrations prize for securing the first rank in the subject of public international law in BL, Best Thesis Gold Medal for her doctoral work on Environmentally Sustainable Development—An Analysis from the Third World Perspective, and the Best Researcher Award from Andhra University. She has authored a book on Environment and Sustainable Development in 2004 and also contributed chapters in a few other books. Many of her articles are published in reputed journals. She was Advisory Member for International Research (Shastry IndoCanadian Institute Partnership) Project on “Plant Genetic Resources; Formal and Informal Knowledge Systems, Institutional Interests and Sustainability” undertaken jointly by the International Ocean Institute, IIT, Madras and Queens University, Kingston, Canada. She held the positions of Chairperson, Board of Studies of Law and Chairperson, Faculty of Law in Andhra University; member, Academic Senate of Delhi Law University and also of Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University at Visakhapatnam.
