Supreme Court Asserts as Conscience Keeper of the Constitution of India

In this book are reproduced some of the recent Judgments of the Supreme Court of India in which their Lordships have overturned some of the decisions of the political executive ruling the country.These decisions were held to be illegal and unconstitutional. Some provisions of the legislative enactment were also set aside being violative of the Constitutional provisions.These Judgments serve to highlight many of the ills like corruption, lack of accountability, social injustice and electoral malpractices, etc., afflicting the country. Not only the wrongful actions of the Government, but even its inaction in vital spheres have come under severe criticism of the Supreme Court.All these Judgments reflect the lack of good governance in the country.
