In Knowledge society of 21st century, because of the efforts made at national and international level, secrecy in government functioning has become a thing of the past and transparency and accountability has become the law. Today, people have right to know about the government functioning which has become possible in India due to the Right to Information Act, 2005.
The Right to Information, which is a facet of the freedom of speech and expression provided in Article 19(1)(a) of the Constitution, has transformed democracy into an effective participatory democracy. This is my humble attempt to bring before those concerned, the Right to Information law, from the legal perspective in a simple, user-friendly and easily understandable form in this book.
Latest important case-laws and copious examples have been incorporated in this edition wherever relevant to make the topics clearer and easy to understand. I have tried to make the subject student friendly, covering all the topics. I am sure the readers would find this edition quite useful.
