The Competition Law is a harbinger of a new line of economic jurisprudence in India. We need to imbibe many of the global practices to cope up with trans-national challenges. The abolition of MRTP Act through the enactment of Competition Act makes a paradigm shift in the gubernatorial policy from prevention of concentration of economic power to encouraging competition. Many of the court judgments that were made based on the MRTP Act will lose relevance in the light of this new piece of legislation because the spirit of law behind these rulings has drastically changed. The spirit of this law could witness a series of new judgments and rulings in the times of come. This book is an earnest attempt to explain the international thought on competition with special relevance to our Competition Act, 2002.
