The main focus the book is land reforms land acquisition procedures and Rent laws. It introduces the concept of land system and growth of the ownership of land. It traces the evolution of land system from the time of manu to the pre-independence era ie the britishers. The book deals with the tenure systems in the Vedic times, Mughal period and finally the britishers. This forms the basis of the study of evolution of property as it is seen and studied today.
