The new 21st edition provides the fully amended and updated text of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 (as amended upto Act 26 of 2008) and the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945 as amended up to the First Amendment Rules, 2010, along with case law notes, allied Acts, Rules, Orders and Notifications. The DPCO, 1995 has been amended up to the Second Amendment Order of 2006. All systems of medicine such as Allopathic, Ayurvedic, Unani and Siddha, have been brought under the ambit of the stringent drug control law.

Fresh new material has also been added in this edition, namely, Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (Display of Board by Educational Institutions) Rules, 2009, Ryan Haight Online Pharmacy Consumer Protection Act of 2008 of U.S.A., which proposes ban on sale of controlled medicines and drugs over the Internet, List of Drugs approved during January to February 2010. Additionally, Guidelines for taking action on samples of drugs declared spurious or not of standard quality, Modalities for grant of WHO-GMP certificate of pharmaceutical product by CDSCO, DGHS, Min. of Health and Family Welfare, from 1st. October, 2009, Grant of Licence in Form 11 to Import Drugs for the purpose of Test and Analysis etc. The chapter on 'Pharmaceuticals and Patents' by Dr Elizabeth Verkey, has been updated.

Chances of improvement are always there. More - latest, legally authentic amendments -as & when they occur, incorporated & implemented practically - must be added immediately without any delay. Please try (rather, must be done) to bring it to the level of a Referance Book for any & every purpose at all the levels & forums.
